The Founders Behind the Features: Peeking into the Verdantt App Launch

When designing the Verdantt app, our #1 goal was for it to make peoples lives better. This goal takes many forms, whether it be saving money, eating healthier, or taking the stress out of meal-planning. But our bottom line has always been to improve the lives of our users. Our first two app users are the co-founders: Ellie Moran, myself, and Grace Reiter. With the Verdantt app launching in just a few short days, Grace and I wanted to re-introduce ourselves and give you some insight into why we are so excited for the Verdantt app to improve your lives just like it did ours.

When designing the Verdantt app, our number one goal was simple: make everyday life a little easier. Whether that means helping people save money on groceries, eat healthier meals, reduce food waste, or take the stress out of meal planning, every feature was created with our users in mind.

Before anyone else had the chance to use Verdantt, the app's first users were its co-founders: Grace Reiter and me, Ellie Moran. Throughout the development process, we thought about how we would use Verdantt in our own daily lives, allowing us to understand how these tools can help build better habits in the kitchen.

With the launch of Verdantt just days away, we wanted to reintroduce ourselves and share a few of our favorite features. More importantly, we want to give you a glimpse into why we're so excited to bring Verdantt to others and how we hope it can make a positive impact on your life, just as it has on ours.

Meet Ellie: The Pantry Tab

To begin, I’ll re-introduce myself. My name is Ellie Moran, and I am the CEO and co-founder of Verdantt Fresh. When I look at my fridge, the biggest issue I face is “When did I buy this… and when is it going bad?” The carrots I thought I bought yesterday are suddenly looking flimsier than I remember. And the bananas on my counter are inching closer to over-ripe by the minute. Luckily for me, the Pantry tab has me covered. It keeps me in the loop on when I bought items and when they will expire through automatic notifications.

How I Use It

Whenever I go to the grocery store, I scan my grocery receipt, and the Verdantt app logs all the items I bought, their expiration dates, and their current “ripeness” status. As my produce starts to reach its expiration, the app sends me reminders to use it up before it goes bad. What’s even better is that the app also suggests recipes to use those items, but Grace will cover more of that down below.

Why I'm Excited for You to Try It

I know the frustration of discovering forgotten produce hiding in the back of the fridge or realizing too late that something has gone bad. The Pantry tab helps eliminate that uncertainty by keeping track of what's in your kitchen and reminding you when it's time to use it. I’m excited for you to have a tool that makes staying organized feel effortless, helps you get more value out of every grocery trip, and gives you peace of mind knowing your fresh food won't go to waste.

Meet Grace: The Recipes Tab

Next up, Grace Reiter - the COO and other co-founder of Verdantt Fresh. One of the biggest challenges I face is figuring out what to cook with the single stalk of celery, six cherry tomatoes, and two chicken thighs sitting in the back of my fridge. I find myself looking at the same ingredients every week wondering what to do with the remnants of last week’s grocery haul. Lucky for me, the Recipes feature in the Verdantt app helps me take the guess work out of my next meal.

How I Use It

When I have produce that needs to be used soon, I open the Recipes page and browse suggestions that fit what's already in my kitchen. It saves me time, reduces waste, and helps me discover meals I might not have thought to make otherwise.

Why I'm Excited for You to Try It

I think a lot of people struggle with the question, "What's for dinner?" This feature makes that decision easier while helping ensure fresh ingredients don't go to waste. I can’t wait to see how you expand your weekly meal rotation with the Recipes tab at your fingertips.

Looking Ahead

Building Verdantt Fresh has been an incredible journey, and we're excited to finally share it with you. These are just a few of the features we're most excited about, but we're even more excited to see how you use them in your own kitchens. We're counting down the days until launch on June 10th and can't wait for you to experience Verdantt Fresh for yourself.
